Choosing a promise ring

- Buying for her, for him, or as a pair decides most of it. Single rings live in For Her and For Men; matched his and hers sets live in For Couples.
- Metal
- Sterling silver finished in white rhodium gives the white gold look without the white gold price. Tungsten carries the scratch resistance. Gold-plated, rose gold-plated and black-plated finishes run across both.
- Stone
- Moss agate, opal, sapphire, sandstone and moonstone: set on top or crushed flush into the band, for her and for him alike.
A promise ring is the pre-engagement ring: it says the question is coming without asking it yet. Whichever direction you choose, engraving is free, resizing is free, and every order ships with a ring sizer.
Questions before you buy
When do you give a promise ring?
Whenever the commitment is real and the engagement is not yet. Anniversaries, deployments, long distance, or simply before the ring budget exists. There is no calendar rule.
Are these real rings or fashion jewelry?
Real metal and real stonework: sterling silver is genuine 925 and tungsten is solid carbide. Stones range from natural moss agate and amethyst to lab-created fire opal, and each product page says exactly what is in the band.
Will a promise ring tarnish?
No. Sterling silver rings are finished in white rhodium, which blocks the air exposure that causes tarnish, and tungsten does not tarnish at all because the metal is non-reactive. Both are covered by the lifetime warranty.
Can promise rings be personalized or custom made?
Yes. Every promise ring includes free engraving: a date, initials, coordinates or a short phrase inside the band, private to the wearer. Fully custom promise rings are available on request.
Should we get one ring or a matching set?
One ring marks one person's promise; a set marks it for both of you. Deciding together, start with For Couples. Buying as a surprise, start with For Her or For Men.
What is the difference between a promise ring and an engagement ring?
